Energic Project Agen.Energic D9.
Just 3 hours from home was a gem an Energic motoculteur D9 that had well and truly been left outside for a long time. Constance said that he only got it for parts it was blocked and some parts were missing. Hey, we love a challenge – bring it home. My favourite colour is rust.
The aluminium motor casing/carter surprisingly was not too corroded, due to the high temperatures of the deep south.
The carburateur was an original, old type, and seemed to be all there – will have to undo and look inside.
And yes there had been oil in the reservoir, so not all bad.
Well, the petrol/essence reservoir is not bad, but no connectors below.
Yup!…the spark plug tells part of the blocked moteur story. Water in from the air filter me thinks.
I think there has been water here!!. Concerned about the deeper scratches now rusted over in the cylinder sleeve, possible ring problem before the water got in.
The cylinder head looks a bit grim but will clean up.
The cylinder cleaned up but still blocked.
Inlet and exhaust valves cleaned up but not budging.
Now for the miracle oil!
Here is the real problem. The guide for the tappet has broken, underneath the lifter decompression bar, which means that there is a lot of movement on the exhaust valve. Now looking for a replacement part… not easy.
