Air filter positioning for extreme conditions.
Many early Energic motoculteurs worked in particularly dusty, dry arid conditions. A large amount of dust and debris blocked and limited the air filter. This obviously affected the motor. So Energic models B and S block air intake filters were modified to minimise these working condition hazards. The air filter was raised above the protection of the hood, for a cleaner air intake.

You can see the hat is a give away in a hotter, dusty dry climate.
