VAP engines/moteurs.
The VAP firm produced engines for motorcycles and motorcycles from after the second world war. The company was the amalgamation of 3 enterprises; Aries, La Bougie BG and the SFEDR which became SA ABG. This was the largest French manufacturer of auxiliary engines as well as the third-largest manufacturer of mopeds until its demise in 1967.
The new company competed with famous brands such as Motobécane with its Mobylette model and SACEM with the legendary Vélosoléx. And as a subcontractor in the aeronautical industry. ABG also became the VAP engine manufacturer with a European reputation to produce engines for other motorcycle manufacturers.
