Las máquinas de cabrestantes / treuils eran de construcción más pesada que sus contrapartes de motocultores.. Se requiere una caja de cambios adicional para hacer frente a las relaciones requeridas para el cabrestante. It also required a stronger drive chain. Se reforzaron los pasadores en el interior de la caja de cambios. (special steel) para hacer frente a la carga adicional y lubricado en un baño de depósito de aceite de servicio pesado. Additionally, los cojinetes utilizados para los ejes eran más grandes que el motocultor estándar. 3 los engranajes estaban disponibles dentro del cabrestante para la recuperación del cable. The plough would be additionally directed and balanced in position by another ploughman, who could be a considerable distance away from the winch operator.
La máquina siempre se colocó perpendicular (right angles) to the line of work/pull. Posicionando así el cabrestante directamente en línea con la línea de trabajo. This machine is secured in position by its weight coupled with rear steel discs which dig into the ground preventing slippage.
